The Department of Pediatric Nursing is one of the oldest and continuously evolving departments. Our program is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Pediatric Nursing focuses on providing care from infancy to early adulthood, addressing physical, emotional, psychological, intellectual, and language development needs.

As the Head of the Department of Pediatric Nursing, I believe that setting clear goals and understanding both child health and parental perspectives are key to delivering exceptional care. I have graduated from M.Sc Nursing in pediatric nursing from Adichunchanagiri college of nursing and even completed BPCCHN from Indira Gandhi Open University .I have been into teaching for 6 years in various educational settings as professor . I had served as the Community Health Officer at Sankanur HWC for 5 years with dedication in improving the health of the community people.

The laboratory facilities in the department of Child health nursing we focus on the developing skills that are required in the semester / for the internship which includes all the developments of children with the models , we also include the demonstrations of life supports in the pediatric .the main exclusivity of our laboratory is that training students in all therapeutic like play therapy makes impact in specialized children.
Pediatric Skills Lab: Practice child care techniques with child-sized mannequins and pediatric tools, including vaccines and vital signs monitoring.
Simulation Lab: Simulate pediatric emergencies and health assessments for hands-on clinical decision-making practice.
Nutritional Assessment Lab: Assess children's nutritional needs, using tools for growth measurements and dietary intake calculations.
Therapeutic Play Lab: Learn to use play therapy and activities to engage and comfort children during medical treatments.
Pediatric Nurse & Practitioner: Provide care in hospitals and clinics or diagnose, treat, and prescribe as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Specialized Nursing Roles: Specialize in Neonatal Nursing (NICUs) or Pediatric Critical Care, delivering life-saving care.
Emergency & Cardiology Nursing: Work as a Pediatric Emergency Nurse or specialize in Pediatric Cardiology Nursing.
Teaching & Public Health: Become a Pediatric Life Support Trainer, Pediatric Educator, or Public Health Nurse focusing on child health.
